Design Challenge #5

This was a design project from 99Designs. It was a logo design for a company named Markata.
The logo was to include the company name and an image of a “whimsical” owl. Also, they liked the color blue. We originally had only 30 minutes to complete the logo. People got excited about the competition, so after the meeting, more time was put in and a couple of us even submitted our finished logos to 99Designs. Also, multiple solutions were presented. Well, none of our designs won that competition, but we enlisted our talented temp Layna Marvin to do the judging. And the winner is . . .

Design Challenge #4

For this challenge, the staff was asked to design a logo for a homemade soap making business named Soap Sisters. It is a two woman operation based in San Diego. The timeframe was 6 weeks. Many options were presented. Everyone on the print media staff were asked to vote.



The winner by unanimous decision was this design by Linda Cranston, which featured two applications.
